Service in Action: Monthly Food Program
Service Leads to Purpose, in collaboration with AVINAL Colombia and Fundación Mayorista, is proud to support the community of Moravia, Medellín, through a monthly food access initiative. Together, we deliver 80 grocery bags and 1,000 eggs each month to families in Moravia, helping ensure steady access to nutrient-rich food for households facing ongoing economic and nutritional challenges.
Moravia is part of Medellín’s most vulnerable urban areas, where households with children living in high-deprivation neighborhoods are nearly twice as likely to experience food insecurity compared with less deprived areas. These conditions are closely linked with higher risks of underweight and stunting in children under five, highlighting significant nutrition challenges for the youngest members of the community.
Through this partnership, we aim not just to fill plates but to contribute to the health and developmental potential of children and families, anchoring our work in service that leads to purpose.
